Brevard Aces Travel Baseball
Advantages of Playing With the Aces
We are local – All of the practices and training sessions will take place right here in Brevard County. The Aces staff will know each young man not only as a player but personally as well. The advantage of this is when a college coach asks us to tell him about a player, we can confidently answer regarding the player’s family situation, academics, faith, baseball ability and anything else he may want to know. Our experiences are that when a Brevard kid goes and plays on a team located outside the area, he is merely a “hired gun”. That experience is relegated to baseball only and as important as that is, college coaches need to know much more than, “Can the kid play?”
Jason Arnold and Greg Plecki
Coach Arnold was a two-time All-American at UCF and a 2nd round draft pick of the New York Yankees in 2001. As a pro player he spent 2 seasons on the Toronto Blue Jays 40-man roster. He also founded and coached the first version of the Brevard Aces during the 2007 and 2008 summers. During those 2 years, 21 Brevard Aces signed college baseball scholarships and 3 of those (Brian Johnson, Beau Taylor and Steven Schils) are now pursuing their dreams professionally. Coach Arnold was also a division I college coach for the last 4 years. Because of his time at the collegiate level, his list of trusted contacts and friends at the college level are many times what they were 4 years ago. This aspect of the program can not be overlooked as almost all college baseball scholarships stem from a previous relationship built between the athlete’s coach and the college coach. Coach Plecki has run the Cape Coast Canes travel ball organization here in Brevard County for the last 3 years. During that time he has helped 38 of his players earn opportunities to play at the college level. A former division I and professional player himself, Coach Plecki’s network of contacts reaches far beyond the state of Florida.
